videochats
Privacy

What a tap on a short address tells us.

Only what any web request carries, kept only for as long as running the service needs it.

IP address
Serving the response, rate limiting and dealing with abuse.
Approximate country
Derived from the IP so click counts can be broken down by region.
User agent
Telling browsers, in-app browsers and automated traffic apart.
Referrer, if sent
Showing the link owner roughly where a tap came from.
Short code and time
Resolving the link and counting the request.
No visitor account
Opening a link never requires one, so none is created.

What we never do with it

We do not sell visitor data, do not pass it to data brokers or ad networks, and do not assemble it into a profile of an individual. Records are kept only as long as they are needed to operate videochats.co and report click counts, then discarded.

After the hand-off

Once the redirect has happened, the destination applies its own privacy practices. What it collects there is outside our sight and outside our control.

Asking about your own data

Write to [email protected] with the short address and roughly when you opened it, so the request can be traced.
